So the time has come to rebuild my lab which currently consists of a number of VMware ESXi nodes and a shed load of VMs. For the sake of this rebuild, all VMs will be trashed and will not be required (secondary DCs, Exchange, testing servers, files servers). I wont be going into deployment of OS, as I would assume that you are technically able to do so (if not, drop me an email and I’ll have something posted).

I will be looking to deploy Server 2012 R2 across the lab and will promoting the forest and domain functional level of my physical domain controller to 2012 R2 (in a later post) from 2008. As well as this, I am looking to replace my ESXi hosts with Hyper-V v3. Being Microsoft focused at home and in my career, I am looking to stick to the Microsoft suite of tools for this lab – posts in the future will include, Exchange, SCCM, SCVMM and others. But that’s not to say I dont have skills in other areas, so If you want to see something in particular, let me know and I’ll see what I can do!
